Stanton Warriors

Every other month I salivate in anticipation of the new FabricLive disc about to arrive on my desk. It always makes for an inspired week at work, and today is no exception - with the Stanton Warriors dropping one of their trademark breaks sets.

As I’ve noticed recently, breaks - in London at least - is increasingly being mashed with house / minimal techno, as if wasn’t already dark enough ;) The Warriors continue this progression, dropping Booka Shade’s awesomely minimal ‘Mandarine Girl’, and then mashing it with some indian-influenced beats on their bespoke ‘Bollywood Beatdown’…

Anyway thats enough music-jounralism for one day. Needless to say if you’re into breaks, this is a must-have. Those of you who know me know where to get it. If you don’t - and want it - then post a comment below and we’ll see what happens ;)

The latest mashup I’ve seen comes courtesy of DJ BC. In an effort to demonstrate his (enviable) remixing skills he’s mashed New Orleans jazz with the Wu-Tang… The result is some seriously funky shit that even you’re momma’s going to appreciate!

Smirnoff gets on the hiphop bandwagon (with a twist)

So who makes a TV ad anymore? BBH new york has created this music video for a new smirnoff product - raw tea. Its actually a really well done parody of all things bling - dumping the street for every manner of preppy WASP aspiration… Check the badass saab convertible at the start ;-) Nice one P-Unit!
