MK12 finally release their long-anticipated History of America brought to you by Thomas Bostwick II (nice touch). I’ve written about the aesthetic before, but I have to say it looks even better across 30 mins. Watch it! Watch it NOW!

You like Flickr, right? I mean who doesn’t? And you also like 3D? Holy fuck you’re going to love TiltViewer. Nothing you haven’t seen before, but doesn’t everything just look better in 3D?!?!?!

Typical Gondry, very nicely done and not at all shoehorned into any idea. Motorola’s agency just let him play and it shows through as being truly authentic.

Very interesting film about Naomi Klein’s new book, with Banksy-style graff animation done by the Foreign Office. Check the book’s microsite on the guardian. Published here in the UK from September 20th, it looks like this will be another must-read for anyone that actually gives a shit about what happens anywhere apart from their bedrooms. I’ll report back then…

This is funny in that slightly twisted Pixar-way, yet very very disturbing at the same time… Mind you I did send it round today, as well as blogging it, so something’s working…

I’m not entirely sure how one donates a cornea, but this is such a simple and powerful concept for 2x side-by-side print ads that I’m tempted to find out. Done for the Red Cross, by JWT Mexico.

About a year ago, a strange thing happened amidst the rubble of broken dreams and the boozers of East London. Two pilgrims to this savage land decided to pool their industry experience, raw talent and shamelessly egotistical aspirations. After much beardstroking and arguing, the-affair was born.
Slightly more intelligent than your average brand, our graphic tees are influenced by subjects that delve a little deeper than your standard pop-references. Too high-brow? Actually, we’ve just got a little more faith in our customers.
the-affair, because everyone deserves a bit on the side.

As some of you know myself and SeƱor Black have just begun a tee-shirt brand called the-affair. So do me a favour and check out the site. If you like it, or even better if you don’t, i’d love some feedback. We’re really interested in any thoughts whatsoever.

Ever wondered what the flight path of a boomerang looks like? No, me neither. But luckily for us, Eric Darnell did. So he put a bunch of LEDs in one, went out one night and took this rather lovely photo. Pretty cool, no?

Oh man, this is so good. If you’ve read William Gibson’s ‘Neuromancer’ you’re going to fucking LOVE this! Apparently the PLA (aka the Chinese military) have been infiltrating the world’s most secure (read everyone else’s military) IT networks and causing a general ruckus. I wonder if they leave any mention of Kuang in there digital footsteps? That would be soooooooo cool ;)

Yet another example of what seems to be an increasing trend (which I really like) towards negative shapes surrounded by a big blank field of white and then laid over the increasingly complex urban jungle we inhabit. Well in this case, at least its appropriate in that its for the Bronx Zoo.

Great idea… You instantly feel tiny again, yet with the gargantuan feeling of being master of some grand domain. Brilliant work for Lego.

I always like a good interface (damn I should put that on a tee!), and the Colin McRae series has always been spot on - characterised by lots of white space and really strong typography. In fact the preloader on my old folio was an homage to the PS2 version, WRC rally.
Anyway I digress… Check the video above, which I can only assume is for the latest installment in the series. I love the idea of a pyramid of content, and the way z-space is used to navigate the content options within each. The ribbons of content traversing z-space are just the icing on the cake for me!
It got me thinking, that console (or any game for that matter) interfaces are an interesting x-over between the realms of interaction and motion - in a way that the web simply cannot be… Rockstar here I come!

Check this out - the original Macintosh manual from 1984. Get past the nerdy men and the idea of carrying around a desktop, and what’s really interesting is that this little book had to explain an entire paradigm shift. Concepts like ’scrolling’ and ’saving’ digitally simply didn’t exist, and had to be explained from scratch… The entire book can be found here.

The lovely hand-crafted illustration of the latest Stella campaign continues throughout the UK (is this a global campaign?) with this latest iteration on the strength of the brand heritage. The bomb and bunker idea is a powerfully simple idea and the art direction is also very strong.
