Its what we all want to know, and unless you’re a Buddhist monk you’re probably too scared to think about too much. Never fear, the Death Clock will tell you straight away – kind of morbid, and its accuracy is yet to be verified, but a little bit of fun nonetheless. Check it out

Microsoft is to offer a consumer version of professional tools used to develop videogames for the Xbox 360… Read the whole article here

IKEA’s campaign sites are increasingly something to look forward to, and this is no exception. In what looks like the follow up to their matrix-meet-kitchen website of earlier this year, this one adopts a story-based (as in building not narrative) interface and full-screen immersive video. Its in Swedish, but you’ll get the idea… Check it out

Due to the fact that I’m lucky enough to walk to work, I haven’t actually seen one of these, but they’re buses equipped with GPS-enabled displays which allows them to promote businesses near the bus at any point in time. Designed by AKQA London.

Again during my research into data visualisation, I came across this awesome little series of graphs from a star-struck lover somewhere. Very incisive, yet wrapped up in a comedic way. You may snigger, but he’s trying. He’s really fucken trying… Nice one brother! Check it out

I’ve been doing a bit of research into data visualisation recently, and came across these simple diagrammes. Made for people with the attention span of a gnat (read in easily digestible chunks) these diagrammes classify life’s little truths. Brilliant. Check it out.

Check it out – first proper look at the GUI for the upcoming PS3. Some really nice animation in terms of presenting options to the user… I’ll definitely be mining this puppy in upcoming sites!

They may have a truly terrible website, but Moleskin are doing some cool things with notebooks (which is good cause that’s what they do!). Their newest range is a DIY city guide – they provide the maps, you provide the content. Brilliant idea, and just what the world needs after reaching Lonely Planet saturation point.

According to this ad for Braniff airlines (what i’m guessing is a now defunct) we wouldn’t need passports, and robots would be going up and down the aisle as we watch 3x films simlutaneously…

Beck’s new album is apparently shipping with a blank album sleeve and a sheet of stickers in an attempt to get people to customise their own… Pretty cool idea, and a nice use of web ethics in a more traditional media.

The stills have been floating around for a while now, but this is the first video i’ve seen of the follow up to the Bravia ‘Balls’ ad… Certain to be another cult ad, shot by Jonathan Glazer, of Sexy Beast fame.

Evil mega-corporations travelling through time to commit industrial espionage, combined with choose-your-own-adventure-style branching story lines in this all-singing, all-dancing Flash site for casio’s new water-proof mobile – G’zOne.
Stylistically its the jedi knights meet waterworld with a bit of ghost in the shell and bjork’s white robots thrown in for good measure. And apart from the annoying ‘next’ button (and the fact that i don’t speak japanese), this is a definite must see…
If you haven’t been to Japan, this might all seem a little far fetched in order to flog a few phones. If you have, you’ll understand…

A new club has opened (where else but Berlin!) that simply and elegantly re-contextualises the pixel into the architectural scale. The walls of this outdoor club light up as if pixels on an old dot-matrix screen giving an eerie but quite cool effect. I wonder if they are only green or they change colour? Has anybody been there?
Check out the video in the top right corner after the jump.

As a designer you either love it for its elegance and diversity in weight, or you hate it for its over/mis-use and its general lack of thought. Whatever you’re position, this new feature length doco about the world’s most famous typeface looks not be missed.
Billed as “an exploration of urban spaces in major cities and the type that inhabits them, and a fluid discussion with renowned designers about the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type.” It sounds like typography 101 for the masses, and if that’s the case I only hope it helps the designer’s cause when it comes to choosing something other than helvetica!!!
